I’m excited to inform you that Daystar Computer Systems is now officially part of Granicus.
We’re extremely pleased to have reached this milestone. It marks the beginning of a new chapter in Granicus and Daystar’s history together. Over the past 6+ years we’ve integrated our software to help government agencies maximize transparency and efficiency in the legislative process. As one company, we’ll be able to deliver a seamless, end-to-end solution for our customers. Also, we’ll be able to provide even more value overtime through a faster pace of product innovation and by leveraging our API to encourage the development of new government apps that evolve democracy.
The acquisition of Daystar adds even more talented people, proven technology, and expertise to our family here at Granicus. All of these are going to help us drive momentum in a few key areas:
-
Combined Value
This acquisition merges the industry’s leading legislative management and government transparency solutions. Unifying our technologies in the cloud puts us in a strong position to make government decision-making more productive through tools that process legislative data with the utmost speed, accuracy, and openness. Our combined technologies already have a reputation of success; we’re looking forward to helping more government agencies benefit from a comprehensive agenda, minutes, and video solution. Enhanced ROI
Our customers have asked for tools to eliminate cumbersome and paper-heavy legislative processes. The addition of Legistar to Granicus’ platform gives them complete automation to achieve this. It’s also going to provide them with a simple way to eliminate redundancies and reduce their dependency on paper. The City of Long Beach, CA and the City of Milwaukee, WI are just two examples of customers that have saved millions of dollars.
-
Open Architecture
Not only do we now have a single end-to-end workflow for agenda and minutes management, we’re also committed to preserving the ability for our customers to choose whatever legislative tools work best for them. Granicus will continue to leverage our powerful API to integrate and innovate with third party systems to ensure government agencies achieve maximum value from their technology. In fact, as I recently mentioned in one of our press releases, Granicus plans to release up to 10 new integrations with industry leading government applications this year.
-
Product Momentum
This acquisition is expanding our team of developers so we can shorten release cycles and deliver enhanced features faster. The combined value of our solution is only going to get stronger with time—you can expect to see a lot more integrations and innovations to enrich transparency, legislative workflows, and citizen collaboration very soon.
-
Unmatched Industry Experience
We’re uniting two companies that have devoted a combined 30+ years to help government achieve legislative success. As one company, we’re in a stronger position to leverage our vast industry experience and proven technology to help more agencies meet rapidly growing needs for comprehensive legislative management. Also, we'll be able to simplify the day-to-day tasks that frequently overwhelm staff using our combined knowledge and experience.
